Back in the late 1920's, an enterprising young man named Wallace T. Jones opened an office equipment store located in Bakersfield, California under franchise from Remington Rand, a premier typewriter manufacturer of the era. He believed that by offering products of exceptional quality at a fair price, and supporting them with good old-fashioned customer service, his business would flourish. Despite the years of the Great Depression his formula worked, and over the next fifty years the company consistently grew.

By the late 60's, copiers were fast becoming a necessity in the business world, so in 1972, American Business Machines, continuing in its tradition of excellence, proudly became one of the first dealer for Canon copiers on th west coast. The demand for them was so high they quickly become the main focus of the company. Canon digital color copiers arrived in the late 80's, followed by digital black & white multifunctional copier/fax/printers in the early 90's, and American Business Machines was quick to offer them, providing customers with totally networked document management solutions. To date, the tradition of Wallace T. Jones is carried on as we continue to offer the newest and highest quality digital products at fair prices, supported by good old-fashioned customer service.
